THe Pumpkins are coming!

Toward the end of September strange things start happening around The Plant Farm at Smokey Point…!

By the dark of early morning crates of humongous and not so humongous pumpkins begin appearing and before you know it…
it time for Pumpkins for Literacy again!

The Marysville Rotary Club Pumpkins of Literacy Pumpkin Patch has free hay rides, a train ride, a petting zoon and a story room to hear all kinds of fun stories!  The great thing about this fund raiser is that all the proceeds made from the sale of the pumpkins goes directly to support our children’s reading programs right here in our very own schools!

Come join us for a great family fun day…

we’ll have more details as they sprout!

Three Cedar Basket Containers..
have gone to the Dogs!

Thank You So Much!

From Ranger, Officer Oates and The Plant Farm at Smokey Point

We’ve told you the story of how the Marysville Police K9 Unit came and asked of they could use the Plant Farm for after hours training for their newest K9 recruit Ranger, an 18 month old tracker. Well once you meet Ranger you’re hooked! When we found out they were raising funds to help offset the purchase of Ranger and we were in. We created a special hanging basket called the Ranger Basket. We made 100 baskets. They were stunning in their cedar pots and spilling over with a bright array of god, purple and red flowers and we sold them all in 3 days. That meant we were able to give a $1,000 check to the Marysville K9 Unit and it was all because of you, our customers! You heard about what we wanted to do and YOU made it happen! THANK YOU!

Well you’ve heard of the old saying if you’re in it for a nickel, you’re in it for a dime? Ranger has actually been paid for now! HOORAH! But Ranger doesn’t work alone, besides his taller human partner, Officer Oates, Ranger has two other K9 buddies, Radar, another tracking dog and Brody a bomb sniffing dog. These dogs make such a positive impact on our community not just in the exceptional job they do but as ambassadors of good will and a symbol of what a community can do when it pulls together toward a common positive goal. We want to do more for this community so this is what we would like to do. We have designed three patio planters; one for Ranger, one for Radar and one for Brody. They have just been planted and should be ready around the middle to end of July. They are in nice cedar pots and we are keeping the cost down to $39.99 each. Again The Plant Farm at Smokey Point will donate $10 for every planter sold. This time the money will go toward further training, and the eventual replacement for Brody who is nursing a neck injury and is approaching retirement! We will be happy to take your name and phone number to give you a call when these planters will be ready for sale. We are privileged to have this opportunity to once again step in and help our community through this effort. A special thanks to you all and we will let you know when our limited edition of courageous dog planters will be ready!

Thank You!
