Plant Guide

The Plant Farm at Smokey Point is a retail nursery located in north Snohomish County, Washington.

The Plant Farm story begins in 1994, when we greeted our first customers with one greenhouse, some great ideas and a lot of vision.

Until February of 2006 , our beautiful retail nursery was situated on 6-1/2 acres and growing. In March, 2006 we moved to a new location to make way for a major retail development at our old site.

Our new Retail Greenhouse location is situated on 7 acres just south of Twin Lakes Park, adjacent to our Larson Farm growing fields. We continue to carry a large selection of perennials, ground covers, grasses, deciduous and evergreen trees and shrubs. Our new state-of-the-art greenhouse holds our famous hanging baskets, annuals and other tender plants. We also continue to offer a wide variety of roses and fruit trees

Our professional staff offers customers expert advice and service, including plant selection, garden design suggestions and plant problem diagnostics. We provide information sheets that customers can take with them or download from the Information page here.

Many of the trees and shrubs that we sell are grown at our 48 acre Larson Farm next door to our retail nursery. These plants include rhododendrons, Emerald Green Arborvitae, Western Red Cedar, Dawn Redwood, Pieris, Lilac, Boxwood, Junipers, Pine, Birch, Vine Maples and Japanese Maples.

We also offer our own 'house blends' of soils, amendments and fertilizers, including our famous Mary's Special Blend potting soil and our Summer Liquid Feed, a water-soluble fertilizer that is formulated for the special needs of plants grown in our maritime Pacific Northwest climate.
